Firm founded

Firm founded and registered with the SEC* as Mason Hill Advisors, LLC, originally managed seperate accounts.


Equinox Partners, L.P.

The firm's global L/S equity fund is launched. After suffering through the Tech Bubble, the fund was well positioned with tech shorts and longs in precious metals mining, E&P, EM equities.


Kuroto Fund, L.P.

The firm's EM equity fund is founded in the wake of the Asia Crisis. The firm's knowledge in Asia and a small amount of capital positioned the fund well for the rerating of emerging Asia. The fund closed to new capital in 2004 and reopened in 2014.


Precious Metals Strategies

Firm begins to manage SMAs in precious metals mining. Off the back of long-held exposure to precious metals miners, the firm launched a dedicate mining strategy which includes SMAs (as of '16) and a parallel fund (as of '21).


Today

The firm moves to Stamford, CT after 25 years in New York City.  It changes its name to Equinox Partners Investment Management, LLC. The firm manages $568m.
